Convolvulaceae

I like Morning Glorys. Sometime back in the late seventies we had one at my parents' house growing on a chain link fence. I recall how I used to enjoy seeing the progress it made every day during the summer. I also recall not enjoying the task of removing its remains from the chain-link fence in the fall.

I became a homeowner for the first time a few years ago and thought about that morning glory. I bought some seed packets from Home Depot and planted the seeds here and there at random. I had no idea what I was doing as far as the sunlight and soil requirements. It was hit and miss but I started reading and learning.

On this site I share my experiences growing the family Convolvulaceae at my house in Middle Tennessee. You are welcome to use this information as you see fit. But keep in mind that I do not claim to be an expert on these plants.

Early Risers

I have photos the following examples of Convolvulaceae:

You are welcome to use the information presented here but to do so at your own risk. Again, I do not claim to be an expert on these plants.

What works for me may not work for you and vice-versa. Differences in climate and weather, soil, seeds and genetics are just the start of the list of variations which could affect our respective results.

If you see me doing something wrong, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I am always open to constructive criticism.

Do you have a question about Convolvulaceae? You could email me but you'd probably have better luck if you ask the friendly folks over at Dave's Garden's Vines and Climbers Forum or Garden Web's Vines Forum. The people at these forums have a couple of centuries worth of collective experience, whereas I have only been doing this for a couple of years.
